Randall let out a broken sounding laugh.
"... you have no idea how many guards are former thugs, and the reverse, actually." he said with a sigh.

Drevin reached down to pick up the axe and wiped it off on some grass before starting to clean it with a rag. "Folks jumping out in front of axes can't be helped." His dry tone indicated more than a splash of sarcasm but a wry smile helped to soften the edge. "Should we head back?"

Giving a nod in thanks at the healing, he looked at the one they killed. Shrugging he slung the bow over his shoulder and put on the quiver. Then grabbed the body and started heading back. "Yeah, we might as well. Hopefully, they had less need for murder. Hard to get info from the dead."
<hr>
Upon getting back to the camp, he threw the corpse to the side and let out a sigh. "Oh look, you guys didn't have to kill yours. Learn anything useful? Ours just kept shooting at us."

Randall looked up at the corpse they had brought back with them and wrinkled his nose.
"... you burned his face off. Was that really necessary?" he asked, sounding more confused than judgemental.

"... it would be in poor taste to say that's an improvement, right?" asked the prisoner of no-one in particular.

"Heh. I think it might be an improvement. And we gave him the chance to stop, he shot at us more. So I lit him on fire. Then he just kept burning. I blame his drinking." He was smiling at he other bandit's remark while casually leaving for his own addition to the man's flammability. He didnt think it was necessary.

Drevin absently fingered the hole in his leathers left by the dead man's arrow. He looked at the other bandit and narrowed his eyes. "Now then about what you were saying about your boss. Something about how he could be taken off guard I think it was."

"That'd be helpful, although anything he can tell us about their layout, guards, etc. would streamline the process considerably. Mr.. I don't think I quite got your name... has decided he'd like to change his course in life." Arl moved just a little forward as she spoke, not enough to be standing directly between the prisoner and Drevin but perhaps enough to offer a little emotional support. Her voice had just a bit of cheer in it, but not too much given the nearby corpse.
The dead bandit had been a disappointing sight, given how strong her companions were. Although.. since she wasn't there she'd take it as they said. These things happened, world knows her spear would be coated in blood by the time things were finished here!

Their prisoner, whose name turned out to be Sarl, told them the following:
-The Crimson Murder had a party last night, most of them seemed pretty hungover, but not devastatingly so.
-The Crimson Murder number approximately 19 people, at least 6 of whom were still asleep when he left.
-The leader of the Crimson Murder, who everyone calls Boss, is able to leap like he has hollow bones and uses wind magic.
-Their new cooks are fire aspects, twins, the reason they were able to scare off everyone in Maroo is because they ate food that let them throw fireballs.
-They're mainly gathered round the factory and town hall in the center of the village, which are opposite each other, forming a village square with a fountain in it.

Drevin raised his eyebrows in mock shock. "Oh the bandit has a change of heart after being stabbed multiple times, tied up and surviving the murder of probably his best friend. Ya don't say." The short man leaned against a tree and crossed his arms. If Drevin intended to interfere with Arl beyond offering the dry remark, there wasn't any sign of it. He certainly wasn't complaining about the influx of valuable information the man was giving them... If it could be trusted anyway. Once the bandit had thoroughly spilled his guts Drevin finally piped up again. "Now that we've got what we need what do we do with our new chior boy?"
