A Strange Land
#1
This is a thread for the three characters Ian, Danika, and Lailoken. Magikeeper has approved them roughly enough to begin RPing, but not for full character interactions. As such, this is a thread for their arrival that will be moved after they are finalized. So they have a chance to start playing.

The three fellows arrive from a wolrdwalking trip. Around them there is a fog that extends in all directions. Visibility is limited, and the horizons can't be seen. They are in the midst of a forest. Their changes from the new magic of the world strike them all simultaneously. For Ian, his leg changes. For Danika, her eyes, skin, and blood change (from harmonic weapon), and for Lailoken the way he reaches his magic has changed, and with it the limits of what he can do.

The simultaneous changes hit him all at once, like running into a brick wall. It all felt so...strange. Even the air somehow felt different. Loken furrowed his brows as he surveyed his surroundings and tried to get his bearings. When he failed, he glanced to his compatriots, Danika Darcell and Ian Nolan, with raised brows - as if to say 'Well, now what?' He wasn't certain what world they'd ended up on, but it didn't really matter. This was their trip, after all, so he would let them decide on how to proceed.

The changes happened, though Ian wasn't so sure which one he needed to focus on. His leg was noticeably different. The materials made from it seemingly changed, though he wasn't sure if he could fully pinpoint the reason as to why. Blue gaze flicked to his two travel companions and it appeared that Loken was simply going to remain in silence. "So," Ian said with a smirk upon his face, his eyes narrowing as he tried to gather his bearings. "Any ideas as to where we landed?"

Danika was blissfully unaware of the changes that she was experiencing. She had her two travel companions and her bird Blu perched on her shoulder - who cared where they were? She turned to look at Loken and Ian, eye color having changed noticeably on arrival. Circling her pupil were gold chain links, almost too easy to miss, but if paid enough attention to, was easily spotted. After all, chain links were not something that were natural. "Dunno," She says in reply, a shrug following her words. "There aren't exactly any 'Welcome to such and such!' signs around here." Ah, sweet banter.

Not privy to the unseen changes to his companions, Loken offered only an ungraceful snort at Danika's reply. WSince she'd already answered Ian's question, he didn't bother doing so as well. "I promised you a trip. I never said it would be a place of particular interest. So, are we exploring or are we leaving?" Of course, Loken had no idea they couldn't leave. He simply assumed all was well.

Danika's lower lip poked out in a pout when asked if they were leaving. "No! We only just got here." A fleeting glance is cast between Ian and Loken. "We should enjoy our trip - like a mini-vacation! Only without having a destination in mind. It'll be fun!"

Eyes flickered between both Loken and Danika. He felt his lips twitch but forced them to stay downwards into a frown. It was a difficult task, especially when Danika spoke again. Attention resolutely stayed upon her and he was about to suggest she start the parade onward. However, Ian was a gentleman and there was no way he would allow Danika to go first into uncharted territories. ”I do believe the lady has spoken.” He said the words with such a put upon sigh before he lost the battle as the smirk came across his features. ”Now then. Shall we head straight into the creepy fog?”

Loken gave the heavens an exasperated look and sighed in acquiescence. "For future reference, this doesn't seem like a good idea."

"You brought us here, Loken." She says, her gaze swinging to the mysterious fog that Ian had mentioned earlier. "Why come to a new planet you don't intend to explore? Besides," her gaze swings back to him. "If things go south, you can just teleport us back home, right?" How could Danika have known that leaving would not be possible? Blu echoed her words with a squawk, "Right!"

Right then. "So, who's leading?"

Biting back on the urge to sigh again, Loken said, "I will." After all, he was the strongest of the three. He could handle anything thrown at him. Ian and Danika, however, were much more fragile. That in mind, he walked. Slowly. All the while he kept his senses on alert.
