[Outer Verto] Skaylen's Workshop
#1
A quaint, two story domed stone building in outer verto. Skaylen's workshop is where the magical tinkerer Skaylen Riette experiments on everything from weapons to spells. The lower floor, open to anyone who wants to look around, contains numerous pedestals each containing some sort of half melted sword, metal scrolls and even one with a faintly meowing pitcher plant.

Upstairs is where the work really happens. A thick oak door bars the way to a stone staircase which leads up to the workshop proper. Low ceilings make the domed space seem even more cramped than it already is. Numerous alchemical and mystical tools litter numerous desks, tables and shelves. What clearly used to be a bookcase has no more than three books on its shelves and instead houses a host of jars, tubes and pots which contain various gases and bubbling liquids.

Skaylen led his group of would be investigators to his workshop, which was in more a state of disarray than normal. Pedestals were knocked over, some items appeared to be wet and the thick oak door which led upstairs didn't seem to be attached to the door frame.

"It appears to have been quite the commotion. Your main goal is simply the retrieval of your oil, correct?" As he asked he followed into the establishment. He kept his eyes filtering to see magic to see what he could around the area. He also summoned Kaia to look around from above to see what she could see.

"Catching the people who did this would be a bonus, of course." Skaylen said, walking towards one of the pedestals and reaching to upright it.

Kage nodded in understanding. So this guy wanted some closure. He would add that to the list of things to get later. He began walking around examining to see if there were any magic traces around. Maybe someone used something that left a trail. He also began looking just outside the obvious trail of wreckage. Hoping to spot any clues.

Ria walked around with an unreadable look on her face trying to take in the even more disorganized space. "Silkie, can you assist in looking around?" Silkie giggles in affirmation and flies around to check the windows and outside doors for evidence as well as flying through the building checking for anyone who wasn't suppose to be there. Ria walks up to the door that is completely off the frame, shakes her head, frowns and then looks closely on and around the door for anything, maybe a foot print, or a tuft of fur, blood, anything. It would be a lie to say she wasn't a touch mad, after all, SHE was the one who installed this door in the first place. (Is the door like... broken off as if someone kicked it in or tactfully taken off?)

Lillith crouched down next to Skaylen and swatted at the inventor's hand.

"You were right about preserving the scene. We've been here half a second and you're trying to fix things." the half-fey scolded, not yet having turned her attention to the disarrayed workshop.

Silkie found no intruders in the building, but did find that there was similar chaos upstairs. None of the downstairs windows were broken but it looked like one of the upstairs windows had been broken outwards.

Kage found a lingering trace of magic on any item that looked weird, including a pitcher plan on the floor that he could swear had moved since he last looked at it. There was more magic floating around the door Ria was investigating, focused around the hinges.

The door's hinges had been shattered, slivers of metal were scattered on the floor and the air had a metallic tang near the felled door.

Skaylen caught himself and rubbed the top of his hand as he nodded at Lily. "I suppose I'll pace around outside. Come find me if you have any questions." he said as he walked back out. Soon they could hear the crunch of his footsteps as he paced outside the workshop.

Ria looked back and forth at the unaltered wood door and shattered hinges. Being familiar with the metal and its breaking strength she shakes her head. She looks at the door and sees that only the hinges were tampered with. "So.. unless Hercules decided to pay this place a visit and carefully punch his way through the hinges without damaging the door. I think we are dealing with a magic user. Silkie pushes air around her to announce to everyone inside that she found a broken window upstairs, indicating an exit. Saying specifically "Quick exit? Skaylen hear it? Why not use door?" Silkie flies outside the window to try and find possible escape route.

"Something used concentrated magic on the hinges. It makes sense.Usually when a door is reinforced the fasted way through it is to go around it. Do you know how they got in?" He moved closer to see if he can identify the type of magic that did it while he waited for a response. After that he moved upstairs to check that area out.
