He dismissed his dagger then recalled his throwing knife to his hand, putting them both safely away. He then made his way toward the back. As he approached the door, he kept an eye out for any windows through which he could see outside. He listened carefully at the door for a moment, then threw his hood over his head.
His shadow was following but he could tell it was mournful. Hayze had used its strength to commit murder. It was often strong enough to stop him from doing so, but Hayze’s will had won out this time.

He heard nothing as he listened. And when he did choose to slip out, there was no one around the once bustling shop. It seems his commotion has cleared the area.

He didn’t hear or see anything as he stepped outside, closing the door behind him. No one was around but he suspected that wouldn’t be for long. He needed to get out of town quickly, find Charlie and move on.
But would he have any luck finding the man in the same location as he had been hours before? It was a start. But there was another detail that couldn’t be ignored. The garden with the purple flowers at the house on the eastern edge of town. It was where he was supposed to bring the asset, if it had existed. But perhaps there was something else there.
He had come from the north and now that he was behind the shop, he was facing the direction he needed to go. He began moving, staying in the shadows when possible and hugging closely to buildings and trees for cover.

Presumably unseen, as far as he knows, he makes it to a house that matches the description he was given.

Seeing that the house and garden is not some fictional detail increases his suspicion that there is in fact something important here. Could it simply be Charlie’s house?
Still not seeing anyone around, he walks right up to the garden and inspects it from outside, perhaps looking like an admirer. He gives the house a look over as well, trying to determine if anyone is home.

Baron looked the suspiciously prominent desk over for traces of magic. He also stretched out his arms until he heard a light crack in his lower back... what was he doing climbing fences?

Hayze - From a cursory glance he cant quite see anything out of the ordinary. The flowers are quite nice. There are some small paths and a gazebo.
Baron - with intense focus, baron is able to see that the desk is showing very faint magic leaking from some of the drawers. It appears that something is contained within.

Baron never had been one to resist a mystery, it was how he ended up sensing thoughts and sculpting dreams to begin with. He moved over to the desk and gave the drawers a tentative tug each, to see if any were locked.

Unfortunately for baron, the drawer opened. This was unfortunate because the magic he had sensed was a rune trap. Fire began to bubble out of the drawer over the floor.

"Ah... oops." said Baron, taking a few quick steps backward. He looked around for a way out of the cellar other than the way he came. As he did so he pulled off his coat once again, in case he needed something to slow the spread of the flames.
