[Outer Verto] Skaylen's Workshop

"That is fascinating and quite concerning. So the unaspected oil was probably taken by the courier. Is the unaspected kind harder to come by?" If it was, then it would be likely that Linus stole it to replenish his own supply and they would have a lead. Otherwise, they have to chase the courier and hope he isn't about to use it to break down a bank vault or something along those lines. Too many options were running through his mind and he needed some direction on which to follow.

Ria thought, even if it was a group effort maybe some people would have taken from the others in the group. The courier would be a good option for someone to easily know, and since the courier was new, maybe he was involved. "Who all was involved in making this? Do you all have the ability to make this by yourselves? And is there anyone in the group that may have a need or want to steal from you? She thought for another moment, if Skaylen's cask was stolen... The others in the group may have theirs stolen as well.. Or.. We could at least check if the same courier delivered their casks as well... She decided to vocalize that concern. "If your group members are trusted then they may be in the same position... Who sent the couriers out to give the casks to you?"

"Linus' golem is the one who put up my adverts asking for help. There's plenty of oil at work, no reason why anyone there would need to steal it. I am however, the only one who asked to take it out of the lab... I can't let my higher ups know its gone missing." he said, almost pleading.

Lilly had wandered off towards where the window was busted out. The wall had a smear of oil on it and the ground beneath had a few handfuls of oat grain.

"Hey guys, I think there was a cart over here!" she yelled across to them.

Ria smiles, "Don't worry Skaylen we wont tell them.... Silkie lets go see what Lilly found." Ria and Silkie walk over to Lilly to see what she has found. They see the smear of oil and the grain.

A couple minutes earlier, Kaia, while pondering about the case, had realized that the wind spirit's "so pretty" comment had been directed towards her. She wasn't sure how to feel about that.

Well.. this practically WAS her body now. At least, she had sort of come to identify as it? She definitely didn't want to think of herself as a dagger..

The fairy sat back down on Kage's head, quietly pondering the nature of her existence as the group talked of glaciers and artless liquid. The bit about breaking down objects sounded a little frightening... then she heard Lilly at the window.

"See? Told you we look outside the window."

"Yes, yes, I know. And we were going to, but talking became our job. Alright. So a Glacier courier was involved in the theft, they had a cart here to catch the oil from the window, and could have had an accomplice. Technically a cart could have gone anywhere, but we can ask if anyone saw it. Was the cask ornamented in any way that could help us find it?" As he asked, he looked around to see if the oil left any magical trace he could follow with his sight.

Ria hones straight in on the oat grains being confident with food. She tried to determine if it was a higher quality or lower, higher quality meant high class food consumption somewhere slightly above average was meant for common bread and other food products while anything average to sub par meant this was used for feeding animals. She smells it and against her instinct tastes it to determine quality as well. Silkie being a wind Sylph tries to determine scent that is lingering in the area and see if she can find a trail that way.

Skaylen shook his head.

Ria was able to tell that the grain was fairly cheap, probably heading to a mill. It was definitely not something you'd expect to find inside the city. There were more grains a little further down the road, in the direction of one of the gates.

Ria grins, "You guys, this is mill oat, and it looks we have a lead, looks like maybe they are headed to a mill maybe outside of town." She walks over to the few grains that have fallen from the cart and points to the ground. Silkie flies around her head.
