He shook his head. "None that I know of. He cuts everyone out of his life that he can and still turn profit. It's made him rather successful in the town, albeit not well liked."

He shook his head. "None that I know of. He cuts everyone out of his life that he can and still turn profit. It's made him rather successful in the town, albeit not well liked."

Hayze stepped onto the side street, spotting the man he was searching for after a few seconds. He had only a name and a vague description. He decided, as he approached, that his intuition was more reliable than any physical description in identifying the man.
His shadow was quiet for once. He supposed his other half was curious; just waiting to see how this played out. His shadow was remaining inconspicuous, as they had agreed, acting as if cast by the sun. Another glance told him that this Charlie was with another. Whether or not the Elf was here for the same purpose as he remained unclear, their body language seeming overly relaxed for negotiations. He closed the gap regardless, wanting this meeting to happen despite the unpredicted circumstance. "Tell me about the job." He said as soon as he was close enough to be heard, speaking at a conversational volume. He was in no mood for introductions so he would skip it if possible.

"It looks like you have company in the waking world. I think I have enough to work with."
Baron shook his head and seemed to dissolve away, as if a wave were breaking him down and sweeping him off. Back on the real street, the pipe smoking elf coughed.

At first Charlie was oblivious to Hayze. As Baron dissolved, he returned to the waking world. When he did notice Hayze, he visibly jumped away a step. He clearly didn't like being surprised. "Who are you and why are you here?" Were the only words he could think of while his mind recovered from being suddenly surprised.

Hayze lowered his eyebrows at the response, a combination of confusion and annoyance showing on his face. It seemed some situations, or some individuals rather, felt like they deserved a measure of cordiality.
His shadow gave him a soft, satisfied sounding chuckle at the thought. He sighed in return, painfully preparing the words he was about to force out of his mouth. "My name is Hayze. I would you to tell me about the job, if you will." So I can decide whether or not this is a waste of my time, he thought.

Charlie seemed to relax at his words. "I have assets that need to be rehomed. Are you in the business of moving assets?"

Hayze gave a nod but threw up a hand as if to say 'Yes... but...' "Boring enough work." He said after a second's thought. "Unless you are speaking of giving my blade a new home in some poor man's heart." He hoped to imply that he was able and willing, in fact preferred, to take work a little more on the... visceral side.
He ignored the groans coming from his shadow.

Charlie held his hands up in a placating gesture. "Whoa. I'm not saying I want you to harm the guy at the shop on the end of the road in the town just south of here while you redirect his merchant license to a predetermined location." Yeah, his attempt at subtlety is not that effective.
04-27-2016, 08:51 PM
Hayze gave the man a sly smile. "Sounds workable. And where is this predetermined location?" He inquired, the only piece of information he needed before he could begin.

"Why, I would never discuss such dishonest things in public, were I to be proposing such preposterous things; especially not mentioning the garden of the house on the eastern edge of the town with the purple flowers. That would just be ridiculous." Again, Charlie doesn't quite seem to grasp how underworld subtlety works.
